Join us in welcoming Darren York as our pulpit supply until we have selected our new senior pastor. Brother Darren and his wife, Lisa, have three children, Daniel, Kayla and Shelton. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Darren was ordained in July 1987 by Calvary Baptist Church in Bells, Texas. He has had pastoral ministries at Calvary Baptist Church in Bells as well as Capitol Heights Baptist Church in Holdenville, Oklahoma; First Baptist Western Meadows, Corpus Christi, Texas; Riverwood Church, Corpus Christi, Texas and West Shore Baptist Church in Sandia, Texas. His ministry at the Riverwood Church and West Shore Baptist Church was as interim and pulpit supply positions.
Darren is the founder and director of FamilyBasiXs, a ministry to marriage and relationships. He has conducted conferences, workshops and retreats focused on Marriage and Relationship Enrichment. He is also a charter member and conference speaker for the Association of Marriage and Family Ministries (AMFM).
Darren also enjoys success as a feature/column writer for Lifeway Student Ministry Publishing, Living with Teenagers.
His hobbies include music as he plays the piano, guitar, and mandolin. He enjoys woodworking and computer programming.
